Chong Van Nee
Co-Head, Infrastructure and Utilities

Chong Van Nee is a Co-Head of RAM Rating Services Berhad’s (RAM Ratings) Infrastructure and Utilities Ratings team. In her current role, Van Nee is largely involved in the credit analysis of concession-based entities, as well as corporate issuers from the infrastructure sector, especially the power, renewable energy and water industries. Leading a team of credit analysts within her division, Van Nee has been instrumental in the establishment and publication of various criteria and methodologies relating to project-finance ratings as well as industry insights and research reports during her 20-year career in RAM Ratings. Her knowledge and expertise in the infrastructure sector also saw her involvement as Course Director to external parties who are keen to gain a better understanding on how RAM approaches project-finance transactions.

Prior to specialising in infrastructure and utilities, she was involved in various rating assignments entailing issuers from a diverse range of industries under the former Consumer Products & Services Ratings division. Together with other senior members of RAM, Van Nee further contributes her skills during internal rating committee meetings, where credit ratings for bonds and sukuk are deliberated, assigned and reviewed.

Earlier in her career, Van Nee had a short stint with an accounting firm, where she had been primarily involved in corporate receivership and liquidation work. Van Nee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
